A Pair of Detentions Following Heathrow Irritant Spray Incident

The assault resulted in the temporary shutdown of the CTA tunnel and the T3 parking area.

Two more people are now in custody in connection with a robbery at London's Heathrow Airport in which 21 people sustained injuries by what is thought to be an irritant spray, according to police.

A man, 24, was arrested in the Lambeth area on suspicion of robbery and assault and a woman, 23 was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery. They both are still being held, authorities confirmed.

These detentions follow an investigation into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Prior to the attack, two women had stolen from them their suitcases after getting out of a parking garage elevator.

A toddler aged three was among the injured in the event. A total of five individuals went to hospital for treatment and have since been discharged.

Police detained a 31-year-old man on suspicion of robbery and assault close to the scene. He has since been released under investigation while inquiries continue.

Authorities were alerted at approximately 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of several people injured by a noxious substance believed to be pepper spray.

The assault - an event that police said was isolated and not considered terrorism - resulted in train delays and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking facility briefly.
