Approximately 25,000 households in Queensland's southeast found themselves lacking electricity on the start of the week after intense storm systems swept through the area, generating wind gusts reaching 109km/h.
Large Frozen Precipitation and Widespread Destruction
Locals reported giant hailstones as large as 7cm in certain regions. The Bureau of Meteorology confirmed that different parts across Queensland had been hit with substantial ice precipitation.

Emergency crews were attempting to repair energy supply throughout the damaged zones, with approximately seventy teams activated to address the extensive power failures.
Victoria's Storm Challenges
Meanwhile, around one thousand energy customers in Victoria also faced power outages after the metropolitan area experienced its most precipitation in over 500 days.
State Emergency Services responded to 598 emergency reports across the area, mostly for building damage but also for fallen timber and flooding.

Humid circumstances were expected to linger along significant areas of the state's eastern regions this next several days as a weather pattern continued to draw in moisture against the shoreline.
Tuesday was predicted as the heaviest precipitation period, with continued thunderstorm potential expected across various areas of both areas.

Medical authorities warned that there was an increased chance of weather-related respiratory issues across the northern rural areas, specifically given the existing atmospheric conditions.
