The Animated Series' Showrunner Has Seen Your Second Season Bingo Cards — With Some Good News

The highly-awaited second season of the musical adult cartoon Hazbin Hotel debuts on Prime Video this week, and audience theories has been intense.

The first season presents a diverse group of characters residing in the afterlife, pits them against each other accompanied by songs about their clashes, and builds tense rivalries and emotional bonds that drive fan obsession.

The community's expectations for the new season differ greatly, but certain themes emerge over and over: Will a fan-favorite character break free from Valentino? Might we learn more about the mysterious "deal" constraining the enigmatic Alastor? Will [favorite character] and [other character] finally get together?

"Naturally, I don't make the show with fan service specifically in mind," the showrunner commented recently. "However I feel like me being a devotee of the series means there's a lot of it just inherently. I also want to see these things, and I hope some of these things to occur, and obviously some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

She reveals her long-term vision is for five seasons of Hazbin Hotel. Seasons 3 and 4 have received approval by the production companies, which finance the series.

That might mean viewers have to be patient for some of the major resolutions — but they could be shocked at how quickly the new season progresses, and how many of what they're waiting for happens this season.

"I feel like people are going to get a lot out of it," she adds. "There are several debut moments. I think we get some really amazing disclosures, some really cool backstories, and even basic elements, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] Audiences will experience much more singing from the previously silent cast members."

The creator is well-informed of the guesses and hopes about season 2 — particularly in the format of audience prediction charts.

"I've come across a few fans make a bingo card about season 2," she says. "Obviously I can't post it, but I've actually done some of them, and almost all of them have almost a bingo. I was like, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that leads me to believe we accomplish much [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I realized, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that makes me happy."

Hazbin Hotel season 2 launches on Prime Video on Oct. 29.
